Title: Common Mistakes
Date: May 12th, 2008
Shortly AMS will have a link to a helpful resource we are creating that explains in detail 10 very common mistakes made when designing a mail piece that is compatible to U.S. automation standards. For over 20 years we have seen many mail pieces in our shop allowing us to analyze what works and what does not. In short, what simple design aspects that will either cost you more in postage or allow you to capture automation discounts. Here is a teaser, in no particular order...
1. Not enough room , in the right area for a complete address and barcode.
2. Background to dark... Address and background do not have enough contrast.
3. The mail pieces is square.. Only rectangular size is letter mail receives a discount.
We strive to proactively inform about critical aspects of mail design. When you succeed in direct mail, we succeed.
